Portfolio
Incorporating research and exploring themes of interest throughout my work, my portfolio showcases initial inspiration, concept and design development. A key progression includes scanning 3D prototypes and material samples to highlight details and develop my work both digitally and physically. In particular, I am fascinated by the process of 2D to 3D with material development at the forefront of design, which is expressed through sampling and 3D exploration.
Concept + Research
My collection ‘Base Camp’ focuses on form and function with a key emphasis on detail and environment. In particular, I was inspired by the book ‘Evolution in Action’ by Jean-Baptiste De Panafieu and Patrick Gries. From looking at the natural form of skeletons in motion, the importance of functional development and movement was really emphasised. As well as this, my collection was highly influenced by my upcoming trip to Everest Base Camp. My collection was developed to incorporate natural references of colour and shape whilst being functional and versatile enough to be worn to Base Camp.
